IEDA 2023 LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR AWARD GIVEN TO LEADER BILL CUNNINGHAM

The Illinois Economic Development Association is excited to announce Senate President Pro Tempore Bill Cunningham as the recipient of our 2023 Legislator of the Year award. The IEDA’s annual Legislator of the Year award is given to a member of the General Assembly who advocates for economic development programs and legislation.  The IEDA Board of Directors selected Leader Cunningham for his leadership and overall commitment to economic development in Illinois.

“It is an honor for me to receive the Legislator of the Year award from the Illinois Economic Development Association,” said Leader Cunningham.  “I understand the important role that economic development plays in the prosperity of our state.”

Promoting economic development throughout the State of Illinois for the last 42 years, IEDA is the only statewide professional economic development association. IEDA advocates for and educates members working together to enhance Illinois’ economic growth.

“The Illinois Economic Development Association monitors legislation that impacts the ability of economic development professionals to succeed,” said IEDA Chairman Michael Cassa.  “Leader Cunningham has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting legislation that expands opportunities for economic development success.”
